A travel nursing opportunity is available in a medical center located in Burlington, NC, specializing in wound care. This role offers a 36-hour workweek, Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Candidates with a minimum of one year of nursing experience are encouraged to apply, including those embarking on their first travel assignment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct wound care with expertise in assessment and management of various ulcer types including neuropathic, peripheral arterial, venous stasis, and pressure ulcers (Stages 1-4).
- Utilize advanced wound care techniques such as sharp debridement, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, wound vac therapy, and application of specialized dressings and skin substitutes.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments involving nutritional status, skin and mucous membrane alterations, and infection control measures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage patient care and ensure adherence to clinical protocols.
- Perform wound cultures and maintain meticulous documentation using EPIC electronic health records.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Prior experience or training in direct wound care is required.
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records.
- Preferred: Previous charge nurse experience and clinic-based nursing background.
- Understanding of procedures including Ankle-Brachial index and management of complex wounds.
