A travel nursing opportunity is available in Chapel Hill, NC, for an experienced RN specializing in wound care. This role offers a 36-hour contract schedule from Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. It is suitable for first-time travelers and requires a minimum of one year of nursing experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct wound care and perform detailed assessments of various wounds including neuropathic, venous, pressure ulcers (stages 1-4), and peripheral arterial ulcers.
  • Manage wound treatment plans involving advanced techniques such as sharp debridement, wound vac therapy, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
  • Utilize a range of dressing materials including alginates, enzymatic debriding agents, hydrocolloids, hydrogels, and silver products.
  • Perform infection control procedures and maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Assess nutritional status and conditions like melanoma, cellulitis, and edema affecting skin and mucous membranes.
  • Document wound cultures and other clinical data accurately.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams and adapt to the facility’s zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse licensure with a minimum of 1 year wound care experience.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records.
  • Clinic experience preferred.
  • Previous Charge Nurse experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with advanced wound care assessments including Ankle-Brachial Index and Peripheral Arterial Disease management.

This position requires flexibility, adherence to compliance deadlines, and completion of a Pass-Fail EKG exam. Candidates will engage in a dynamic healthcare environment where specialized wound treatment is a critical component.
