A rewarding opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse with Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience to provide specialized nursing care in a 36-bed unit. This contract role focuses on caring for patients with complex conditions such as COPD, heart failure, renal failure, sepsis, and those requiring advanced respiratory support including mechanical ventilation and high flow nasal cannula.

Responsibilities
- Deliver skilled nursing care to PCU patients with diverse, complex diagnoses including cardiac arrhythmias, tracheostomies, and patients on titratable IV drips.
- Interpret cardiac rhythms, manage temporary/transvenous pacemakers, care for patients with chest tubes, and administer blood products and wound care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including CNAs, pharmacists, case managers, respiratory therapists, and nurse educators.
- Utilize EPIC electronic medical records and other clinical technologies like Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing systems.
- Adhere to shift requirements, including every other weekend rotation and holiday coverage as specified.
- Float within the designated healthcare region as needed to support staffing demands.
Qualifications and Desired Experience
- Minimum of 18 months of PCU nursing experience.
- Current RN license and certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Proficient in critical care nursing skills such as ventilator management, cardiac drip administration, and complex wound care.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment requiring floating among multiple facilities within the region.
