A Registered Nurse with expertise in perioperative care is needed to support surgical patients throughout their preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases. This role focuses on delivering exceptional nursing care by adhering to established standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes. The nurse will serve as a patient advocate and may provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel. Collaboration with the Unit Nurse Manager, House Supervisor, or RN Team Leader is essential. This contract position includes participation in an on-call rotation and may require flexibility to provide care in other qualified departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care in all phases of the surgical experience.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Advocate for patient needs and safety throughout the surgical journey.
- Supervise and guide assigned nursing staff when applicable.
- Coordinate with leadership and multidisciplinary teams to maintain high standards of care.
- Participate in on-call rotation ensuring prompt patient care response.
- Float to other departments as needed based on qualifications before core staff is reassigned.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Proven experience in perioperative or post-anesthesia care nursing.
- Strong critical thinking and patient advocacy skills.
- Ability to supervise and support other nursing personnel.
- Flexibility to work an 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM shift and participate in on-call rotation.
- Adaptability to provide care across departments when required.
