Join a specialized pediatric perioperative nursing role based in Los Angeles, CA, working a rewarding contract position in a dynamic clinical environment. This opportunity requires a Registered Nurse with Pediatric Acute Care Unit (PACU) experience, capable of providing comprehensive care across Pre-Op, Phase 1, Phase 2 recovery, and discharge processes. Your expertise will be essential in supporting a variety of pediatric surgical cases—excluding open heart, NICU, and transplant surgeries—with a patient focus from infants to young adults.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with minimum 2 years pediatric PACU experience
  • Proficient in inpatient and outpatient pediatric care, including management of tracheostomies, ventilators, and G-tubes
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
  • Experience with Cerner documentation system preferred
  • Comfortable working with special needs populations, including high-volume autistic patients
  • Ability to work additional call shifts (4-6 per 6-week schedule) and float to Pre-Op as required
  • Spanish language skills considered a plus
  • First-time PACU nurses with relevant pediatric experience are encouraged to apply

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality care in Pre-Op and PACU settings, managing patient flow through phases 1 and 2 and ensuring safe discharge practices
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams covering ENT, Neuro, Gen Surgery, Cath Lab, Plastics, GI, and more
  • Provide support and assessment for pediatric patients aged 0-25 years undergoing various procedures
  • Maintain strict adherence to clinical guidelines and safety protocols

Shift and Schedule:

  • 4x10-hour day shifts weekly, start times between 05:30 and 07:30, typically 07:30-18:00
  • Contract engagement with flexibility for approved time off per management discretion
