An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with Pediatric Oncology and Hematology expertise to support a pediatric medical unit specializing in oncology, hematology, and bone marrow transplant care. This contract position offers a 12-hour day shift schedule, working 36 hours per week with weekend rotations every other week. The shift hours are from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care for pediatric patients in a 24-bed unit comprising hematology/oncology and bone marrow transplant beds.
  • Manage acute care needs including chemo administration, blood product transfusion, and port access.
  • Participate in patient care ranging from neonates to adults with childhood cancer histories.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including psych techs, APPs, and PICU consults.
  • Perform telemetry monitoring, central line care, PCA pump management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
  • Float to general pediatric medical units as required, excluding the main ER, PICU, and NICU.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years pediatric nursing experience with strong oncology/hematology skills.
  • Bone marrow transplant experience, especially day 0 to 2 post-transplant, highly preferred.
  • Current BLS and PALS certification.
  • APHON provider card certification.
  • Proficiency in chemo administration, port access, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and blood culture procedures.
  • Comfort with managing complex patient care including end-of-life interventions and advanced infusion therapies.
