An exciting opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience to provide specialized care within a busy 8-10 bed pediatric unit. This role focuses on managing neurology post-operative patients and a variety of complex pediatric cases, including respiratory, neurosurgery, hematology/oncology diagnoses, among others, serving patients from newborns up to 17 years of age. The unit maintains a target nurse-to-patient ratio generally at 1:2, occasionally 1:3, allowing for focused and attentive care.

Qualifications / Desired Experience
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of PICU nursing experience
- Pediatric Acute Life Support (PALS) and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certifications required
- Experience managing neurology post-op pediatric patients highly preferred
- Skills in IV placement, lab draws, and chemotherapy administration are a plus
- Open to first-time travelers meeting the experience criteria
- Flexibility to float as needed within the unit
Responsibilities
- Provide critical nursing care focused on pediatric patients with complex medical and surgical needs
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain compliance with all clinical and unit protocols
- Maintain communication and coordination for every other weekend coverage, with no on-call requirements
Schedule
- 36-hour workweek total, composed of 3 consecutive 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
- Weekend coverage every other weekend
- Maximum of 7 days Return to Office (RTO) post-booking; no onsite RTO flexibility
This is a contract opportunity with support from a dedicated scheduler who ensures shifts fit within your preferences while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Scrubs are not provided; preferred attire includes pediatric-friendly tops with navy blue pants or navy uniforms.
