Providing specialized care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit requires expertise, compassion, and agility. This role demands a registered nurse skilled in managing complex pediatric cases, including respiratory, surgical, trauma, neurological, and oncology patients in a critical care setting. Position Details:

  • Contract assignment, approximately 13 weeks
  • Day shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Weekend hours as required by patient census
  • No mandatory call unless shift ends early

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients across PICU and NICU areas
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to individual needs
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold standards consistent with the Nurse Practice Act and institutional values

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active RN license eligible or current in Missouri
  • Minimum 1 year PICU experience post-orientation with ventilator competency explicitly noted on resume
  • Required certifications: BLS, PALS (AHA only), TNCC or PCAR
  • Preferred certification: ENPC
  • Able to float between PICU, NICU, pediatric medical floor, or pediatric ED based on census
