Provide expert nursing care in a specialized rehabilitation setting at a well-established facility dedicated to patient recovery and support. This contract position offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative interdisciplinary team focused on enhancing patient outcomes in a post-acute rehab environment.
Location: The assignment is based in Derby, Kansas, near Wichita, where you can experience a friendly community with a mix of urban amenities and natural attractions. This area offers an affordable cost of living, welcoming neighborhoods, and a range of outdoor activities, making it a comfortable place to live and work.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN license with experience in Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care nursing
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred if obtained within 90 days
- IV certification required for LPN candidates
- Familiarity with telemetry monitoring desirable
- Knowledge of Quality Indicator scoring in post-acute settings is a plus
- CRRN certification highly preferred
- Skilled in patient education and advocacy with strong communication abilities
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care following rehabilitation care plans developed by the interdisciplinary team
- Administer medications including IVs and blood transfusions as needed
- Perform lab draws and thorough head-to-toe patient assessments
- Utilize patient lifts and equipment such as iSTAT and glucometers proficiently
- Document patient data and interventions accurately using Meditech Magic EMR system
- Educate patients and families regarding rehabilitation programs and care plans
Schedule and Environment:
- Day shift hours: 7 AM – 7 PM
- Patient ratio approximately 1:6
- Unit offers exposure to new, state-of-the-art rehabilitation technology with plans for a new rehab hospital opening soon
- Work closely with a dedicated team of RNs and LPNs
