This opportunity suits registered nurses with experience in rehab and long-term care settings looking to work in a dynamic inpatient rehabilitation unit. The position is offered on a contract basis, providing a chance to apply specialized skills in a supportive environment focused on patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to patients recovering from rehabilitation needs, including management of IVs and use of specialized equipment such as mechanical lifts and infusion pumps.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Assist with wound care, and care for patients with stroke and traumatic brain injury when applicable.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in an electronic medical record system.
- Adhere to unit policies, including dress code and patient safety protocols.
- Participate in weekend rotations approximately every other weekend.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Current registered nurse licensure.
- Experience in rehab or medical-surgical nursing.
- IV therapy experience is required.
- Wound care, stroke, and traumatic brain injury (TBI) experience preferred.
- BLS certification is mandatory.
- Flexibility, kindness, and thoroughness in patient care approach.
Schedule/Hours:
- Variable shifts with day and night coverage.
- Approximately a 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio depending on census.
- Weekend work every other weekend.
