A skilled Registered Nurse with inpatient rehabilitation experience is needed for a contract assignment at an acute inpatient rehabilitation hospital specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation. This facility provides specialized care to patients recovering from stroke, brain and spinal-cord injuries, amputations, complex orthopedic injuries, and other conditions requiring comprehensive rehabilitative services.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Med-Surg or Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) nursing; skilled nursing experience alone is not sufficient.
  • At least 13 weeks of hands-on EPIC electronic health record experience required.
  • Acute inpatient rehab or acute rehab hospital experience is essential.
  • One year of travel nursing experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care to a patient population with diagnoses including stroke, Parkinson’s, spinal injuries, post-craniotomy, joint replacement, and complex medical conditions such as hypertension and blood glucose management.
  • Skilled in feeding tube care, swallowing precautions, insulin protocols, urinary catheter care, PICC and port management, IV starts, and supplemental oxygen delivery.
  • Maintain a patient ratio averaging 1:7.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maximize patient recovery and quality of life.
  • Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts with every other weekend coverage required; no call duties.
