A nursing opportunity is available in a fast-paced stepdown/PCU setting focused on transplant and complex care patients. This contract position is located in Arvada, CO, offering a dynamic environment supporting solid organ transplant cases including kidney, liver, and pancreas patients.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry nursing essential
- Skilled in managing Heparin drips and PCA administration
- Preferred: Stepdown or PCU background
- Preferred: Solid Organ Transplant care experience
- Ability to perform wound and drain care including wound vac, chest tubes, and JP drains
- Strong multitasking, adaptability, and reliability in a high-acuity setting
Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to a 1:3-4 patient ratio in a 34-bed transplant/stepdown unit
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs and patient care technicians to deliver optimal patient outcomes
- Utilize technology and equipment such as bladder scanners, Mobilabs, EKG machines, AccuVein devices, virtual sitter cameras, and various lifts to support patient care
- Document thoroughly using Meditech EMR system
- Adhere to unit policies and clinical guidelines while maintaining patient safety and quality care standards
