This position offers an opportunity for experienced Registered Nurses with a strong background in surgical stepdown care. The role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care to post-operative patients in an intermediate care setting. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years recent acute care experience and possess the ability to independently interpret telemetry rhythm strips.

Schedule:
- PM shifts
- 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours nights, every other weekend (EOW), every other holiday (EOH)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care to post-operative patients transferred from PACU or SICU requiring intermediate monitoring
- Manage care for patients including cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, trauma, and transplant cases
- Interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms to monitor patient status
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years of recent acute care nursing experience
- Critical: Surgical stepdown experience required
- Experience in IMCU/stepdown units
- Proficient in automated medication dispensing systems
- Successful completion of telemetry and cardiac medication tests on Day 1
- Must have completed multiple previous travel assignments
- Preferred experience in tertiary care facilities

This 38-bed stepdown unit cares for complex post-operative patients with an average nurse-to-patient ratio ranging from 1:3 to 1:5 depending on patient acuity. The environment is fast-paced, requiring strong clinical skills to manage a diverse surgical population.
