Stepdown Registered Nurse | El Dorado, Kansas

This contract opportunity is for a Registered Nurse in a Stepdown unit, providing specialized care for patients requiring advanced monitoring and support. The role is based in El Dorado, KS, with potential travel to a nearby medical center known for its critical care cardiovascular unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to patients in a Stepdown or Cardiac Care setting
• Monitor and manage complex cardiac patients using advanced equipment such as balloon pumps, CRRT, and hypothermia devices
• Perform critical procedures including heart catheterizations, cardioversion, central line maintenance, and medication drip management
• Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure positive patient outcomes and continuity of care
• Maintain accurate documentation using Meditech EMR system

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current RN license with experience in Stepdown or Cardiac Care units
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH certification preferred
• Ability to manage patient ratios approximately 1:2
• Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and efficiency under pressure
• Prior experience with cardiac critical care equipment is highly valued
