This role is situated in a 16-bed stepdown unit with a patient ratio of 1:2, supporting patients who require ventilators and titratable drips. Professional skill in managing ventilators and critical care medications is essential, along with at least two years of clinical experience in a critical care or ICU setting.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years critical care nursing experience, preferably ICU or stepdown
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Proficiency with ventilator management and titratable drip administration
- Experience using Epic electronic medical records system preferred
- Strong team orientation with excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill stepdown patients with cardiac and ICU-level needs
- Monitor and manage ventilator support and titratable drip medications meticulously
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate patient documentation using the Epic EMR system
- Adhere to infection control practices and facility protocols
- Support coverage during every other weekend night shift (7:00 pm - 7:30 am)
- Cover holidays as needed; no on-call responsibilities
Additional Role Details:
- Navy scrubs required; hoodies and sweatshirts are prohibited
- Position requires issuance of facility medication drawer keys
- Reporting location is the 3rd Floor Heart Center, CCU
