A contract nursing role is available in Kansas City, MO, focused on caring for patients in a stepdown setting with diverse surgical backgrounds. The primary patient population includes individuals recovering from bariatric surgery, urology procedures, hepatobiliary surgeries, colorectal operations, and trauma cases involving abdominal injuries and necrotizing soft tissue infections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care, ensuring close monitoring and timely interventions.
- Manage complex post-operative care, including wound vac changes and serial debridement.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and rehabilitation.
- Adapt to floating across departments and units within the facility as needed.
- Work night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15, covering three 12-hour shifts per week.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current RN license, with pending licenses considered.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience; first-time stepdown nurses welcome.
- Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH.
- Ability and willingness to float across units based on facility needs.
- Commitment to working 8 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling cycle.
- Must be located at least 75 miles away from the facility.
