Step into a dynamic nursing environment in a progressive stepdown unit, providing exceptional care for diverse patient populations. This contract role is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with a strong foundation in progressive care and a passion for patient-centered teamwork.
Schedule & Hours:
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- No on-call shifts
- Holiday shifts required: 75% participation
- Scheduling cycle every 6 weeks
- Up to 6 days of approved time off (excluding holidays), with contract extension for unmet hours
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 18 months of recent PCU experience
- Proficient in cardiac gtt, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, blood products, wound management, central line care, and chest tube management
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Experience with high acuity cases such as stroke, pneumonia, cellulitis, CHF, AMS, Afib, and COPD
- Willingness to float between regional facilities as needed, including mid-shift travel (remunerated travel time)
- Comfortable navigating EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips Telemetry monitors
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to patients requiring stepdown-level monitoring and interventions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including CNAs, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and support staff
- Utilize specialized equipment for patient mobility and safety
- Maintain meticulous documentation within EPIC EMR and manage medication administration via Omnicell
- Support rapid response for critical patient changes, including rhythm interpretation and life-saving interventions
