Deliver exceptional patient care as a Registered Nurse in a dynamic stepdown unit with a close-knit, team-focused culture that prioritizes both patient outcomes and professional growth. This role offers a unique opportunity to care for diverse populations and diagnoses, including stroke, pneumonia, cellulitis, failure to thrive, altered mental status, chest pain, atrial fibrillation, and COPD, among others.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Weekend rotations (every other weekend required)
  • No on-call shifts
  • Holiday work expectation: 75% of contract holidays
  • Schedule cycle every 6 weeks
  • Floating within the region as needed, with paid travel time if floating mid-shift

Desired Qualifications:

  • At least 18 months of PCU experience
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Proficiency with essential nursing functions, trach care, cardiac gtt, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, transfusions, wound care, central line management
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills; adaptability when floating between units
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred
  • First-time travelers welcomed

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert stepdown-level care to a patient ratio of 1:5–1:6
  • Perform thorough assessments, deliver evidence-based interventions, and monitor complex conditions
  • Collaborate with CNAs, respiratory therapists (available 24/7), hospitalists, charge nurses, and ancillary staff
  • Participate in patient admissions, transfers, and discharges (ADT)
  • Utilize advanced technology, including Alaris pumps, Omnicell med dispensers, and Philips telemetry
  • Adhere to exacting standards for infection control and safety
  • Support and uphold a strong culture of teamwork and patient-centered service
