Stepdown Registered Nurse | Littleton, Colorado

This position offers a rewarding opportunity for a registered nurse skilled in step-down care to support a busy Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Progressive Care Unit in Littleton, CO. The unit provides specialized care focused on cardiac patients and those requiring advanced monitoring with a 38-bed capacity and a professional staff of 73. This contract role is ideal for RNs with ACLS and BLS certification seeking to apply their expertise in a dynamic environment updated with new lift equipment and technology to enhance patient safety and nurse efficiency.

Responsibilities include managing patient care consistent with PCU standards, administering cardiac drips, monitoring post-operative patients, including those who have undergone cardiac catheterizations and video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS). Maintaining high-quality cardiac care using cardiac monitoring equipment and dynamap devices is critical. Teamwork and a positive attitude are valued within the unit to maintain a supportive and collaborative atmosphere.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Active RN license with step-down or progressive care experience
• ACLS and BLS certification (required)
• Cardiac care experience preferred
• Proficiency using EMR systems (Meditech preferred)
• Ability to manage patient ratios typically ranging from 4 to 5 patients per nurse
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a team-oriented mindset

Schedule:

• Night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM
