An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with stepdown unit experience at a healthcare setting in Longmont, CO. This contract role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients in a transplant and stepdown environment, requiring expertise in managing complex patient needs within a fast-paced unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients recovering from solid organ transplants and requiring stepdown services.
• Manage patient care including monitoring heparin infusions, patient-controlled analgesia (PCA), wound and drain care such as wound vacs, chest tubes, and Jackson-Pratt drains.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain patient safety and uphold high standards of care.
• Utilize medical equipment effectively, including bladder scanners, EKG machines, AccuVein, and lifting aids like Hoyer and Sit to Stand lifts.
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records systems aligned with unit policies.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current RN license with Med/Surg and telemetry nursing experience.
• Proven ability to care for patients receiving heparin drips and PCAs.
• Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing background is preferred.
• Experience with solid organ transplant patients (kidney, liver, or pancreas) is highly valued.
• Demonstrated reliability, adaptability, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic clinical environment.
