Join a dynamic progressive care setting delivering high-level patient care while expanding your professional experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN with a background in stepdown or progressive care to contribute clinical expertise within a collaborative, patient-focused team.
Schedule/Hours:
- Rotating weekends (every other)
- No on-call requirements
- Holiday coverage required for 75% of major holidays
- Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
- Up to 6 days off requestable, excluding holidays (additional time added to contract if total hours are not met)
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care for adults with complex needs, including stroke, cardiac events, respiratory diagnoses, and wound care
- Utilize and interpret advanced monitoring equipment and tools (EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips Telemetry, Omnicell, and patient fall prevention devices)
- Perform and manage cardiac rhythm interpretations, trach and chest tube care, central line management, blood product administration, and dressing changes
- Collaborate closely with CNAs, respiratory therapists, resource nurses, and hospitalists (onsite and virtual) for efficient multidisciplinary patient care
- Maintain flexibility with floating assignments throughout the regional facilities as patient needs demand (with travel time compensated)
- Adhere to facility requirements regarding documentation, infection prevention, and patient safety
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN licensure with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum of 18 months recent PCU/stepdown nursing experience
- Familiarity with cardiac drips, rhythm interpretation, tracheostomy care, wound management, and central lines
- Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability skills
- Willingness to float within Region 3 facilities as needed
