Schedule/Hours:

  • Weekend rotation: Every other
  • No call requirements
  • Holiday commitment: 75% of facility holidays
  • Schedule cycles: Every 6 weeks
  • Orientation: General and unit-specific over 2 days
  • Up to 6 days of requested time off (excluding holidays): Must be added to contract’s end if hours not met

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 18 months of progressive care (PCU) nursing experience
  • Accepts first-time travelers
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Proficiency with tracheostomy care, cardiac drips, rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, central line management, wound care, and blood product administration

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and monitor patient assignments (average ratio: 1:5-1:6)
  • Care for patients with conditions such as stroke, pneumonia, cellulitis, CHF, COPD, and more
  • Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips telemetry monitors
  • Collaborate closely with CNAs, techs, and multidisciplinary clinical staff
  • Participate in regional float pool as needed; clocked-in travel time is paid
  • Foster patient-centered care in a culture where “every patient is our patient”

Department Support:

  • 24/7 hospitalist and respiratory therapy coverage
  • Dedicated IV/VAT and resource nursing teams as available
  • Administrative, phlebotomy, and monitoring staff facilitate daily operations
