A contract opportunity is available for a registered nurse skilled in telemetry nursing to provide care in an acute care setting. This role focuses on caring for geriatric patients and those requiring inpatient rehabilitation (swing bed patients), in a hospital environment known for delivering concierge-level service to an affluent community.

Location
Positioned in Brevard, NC, this opportunity serves a facility with a 24-bed acute care unit providing med/surg services with standard equipment and Cerner electronic documentation. The local community values high-quality healthcare, and the unit prides itself on excellent culture and teamwork. The patient ratio ranges from 6-7:1, ensuring meaningful patient interaction while managing workload effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to geriatric and inpatient rehab (swing bed) patients
  • Perform advanced wound care procedures and minor medical procedures as required
  • Adhere to unit policies, including dress code standards of navy uniforms and certification requirements
  • Participate in a schedule of three 12-hour shifts with minimal floating responsibilities
  • Maintain patient experience standards aligned with concierge-level care expectations

Qualifications / Desired Experience

  • Current RN license with telemetry nursing skills
  • Experience caring for geriatric or inpatient rehab (swing bed) patients
  • Advanced wound care competencies
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and CPI preferred
  • Ability to work within a collaborative team environment
  • Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records system is a plus
