Telemetry Nurse (RN) in Burlington, NC

A registered nurse with telemetry experience is needed for a contract assignment in Burlington, NC. This position involves providing skilled nursing care to patients primarily within a telemetry and medical-surgical unit, requiring a strong clinical background and flexibility to work night shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to telemetry patients using clinical judgment and established protocols.
• Serve as Charge RN when necessary, overseeing unit operations and coordinating patient care.
• Administer medications including blood products, heparin, insulin, and PCA pumps.
• Manage peripheral lines and start IVs as needed.
• Utilize rapid response teams effectively in urgent situations.
• Follow isolation precautions and monitor patients on nasal cannula oxygen therapy.
• Work 3x12 hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with every other weekend and holiday rotations.
• Float to other units within the hospital as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid RN license with at least 2 years of telemetry or medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered.
• BLS certification mandatory.
• Proficient with EPIC electronic health record system.
• Ability to pass a pass/fail EKG exam as part of onboarding.
• Strong clinical skills including blood product administration and peripheral line care.
• Flexibility and reliability with strict adherence to scheduling and attendance policies.
