A rewarding opportunity is available for a registered nurse skilled in telemetry nursing to support a 37-bed medical/telemetry complex care unit. This 13-week contract position offers the chance to deliver high-quality care during 12-hour night shifts within a collaborative and dynamic healthcare setting.
Location:
Based in Canandaigua, NY, this assignment provides exposure to a specialized med/tele unit known for its comprehensive patient care. Canandaigua is a vibrant community set in the scenic Finger Lakes region, offering a blend of natural beauty, cultural attractions, and outdoor activities—ideal for work-life balance.
Shift Hours:
- 12-hour night shifts, 7 PM to 7 AM
- 36 to 48 hours per week available
- Weekend coverage: 1 weekend shift weekly or 2 weekend shifts every other weekend
- At least 1 holiday shift required during the contract
Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Minimum 1 year recent acute med-surg/telemetry nursing experience
- 2 years of U.S. healthcare experience required for candidates trained outside the U.S.
- Active New York RN license
- Current NIH AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting system
- Flexibility to float to other units and take charge roles as needed
- Willingness to adapt to scheduling requests, including block booking if required
Preferred Experience:
- 2 years recent acute med-surg/telemetry nursing preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient-centered care to complex med/telemetry patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage patient care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities when assigned
- Assist with unit-level tasks and float as necessary
