Telemetry RN in Fairport, NY

A nursing opportunity is available for experienced registered nurses proficient in MS/Telemetry care, providing critical support in managing cardiac and pulmonary patient needs. This contract role is based in Fairport, NY, offering a focused, night-shift schedule with consistent staffing support to ensure quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Manage telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias, delivering timely interventions as necessary
• Utilize Rapid Response Teams effectively to respond to patient emergencies
• Provide peripheral and central line care, including PICC line management
• Apply non-invasive airway management techniques and isolation precautions
• Work alongside PCTs and an in-house phlebotomy team to optimize patient care workflows
• Float within scope between like units such as med-surg, ICU (stable patients), acute brain injury, and emergency boarders as needed
• Utilize Epic charting for thorough documentation
• Maintain vigilant monitoring of cardiac, pulmonary, pain, GI, infection, and unmanaged diabetes mellitus cases

Desired Qualifications

• Valid RN license with at least 1 year of experience in MS/Telemetry nursing
• BLS certification required
• Ability to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Comfortable with 12-hour night shifts (7 PM to 7 AM) with a 4x12-hour shift schedule
• Willingness to work every other weekend; no on-call responsibilities
• Experience with Rapid Response Teams and telemetry equipment, including bladder scanners, EKG machines, and lifepacks
• Familiarity with Epic electronic medical records preferred

Schedule/Hours

• Night Shift: 4 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Weekend work every other week

This contract position requires flexibility with floating between units and offers the chance to work in a supportive environment with adequate staffing. Locals within 75 miles are not accepted, and pending licenses are not considered.
