Provide advanced cardiac care during night shifts in a specialized medical unit focused on cardiac intervention recovery. This role requires skilled nursing professionals prepared to manage a patient ratio of 1:6 in a 36-bed unit with private rooms. You will care for patients ranging from young adults to geriatric individuals who have undergone cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, or pacemaker implantation.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct patient care to medically complex cardiac patients in a fast-paced environment.
  • Float to units of equal or lesser acuity as needed to support hospital operations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
  • Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for documentation and communication.
  • Maintain BLS certification and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Work every other weekend on a fixed night schedule (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week).

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years clinical experience.
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travel nurses not accepted.
  • Prior experience in cardiac care settings and familiarity with NIH certification is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple patients effectively under a 1:6 ratio.
  • Comfortable adapting to floating assignments within related acuity units.
