A registered nurse with a strong telemetry background is needed for a night shift assignment in Lawrence, KS. This contract position offers the opportunity to apply specialized cardiac nursing skills in a dynamic acute care environment. The role requires expertise in managing telemetry patients and familiarity with cardiac procedures and medications, supporting quality patient care in a busy hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to telemetry patients on Unit 4N Cardiac, including cardiac drip management (Heparin, Butamax, Lasix, Cardizem).
  • Manage TR Bands post-procedure and support Tikosyn/Sotalol initiation processes.
  • Float to all acute care units as needed.
  • Participate in a weekend rotation (every other weekend).
  • Adhere to holiday work requirements, including Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day.
  • Complete orientation and training sessions at designated campuses, including Epic EMR training.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Current Kansas RN license.
  • Minimum 1 year recent telemetry nursing experience; 2-5 years preferred.
  • Competency with cardiac monitoring equipment and medication protocols.
  • Certifications in BLS and ACLS.
  • Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Records system is highly beneficial.

Schedule

  • Night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
  • 36 hours per week (3 x 12-hour shifts).
  • Contract length: 13 weeks.
