A rewarding opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse specializing in telemetry to provide exceptional patient care on a dedicated telemetry unit in St. Louis, MO. This 13-week contract position offers night shifts with flexible guaranteed hours and the chance to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac telemetry environment.
Location Overview: Located in South St. Louis County, this hospital serves a diverse patient population from multiple surrounding counties. The facility is recognized for excellence with designations including a Level 2 Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care to telemetry patients including those with CHF, arrhythmias, chest pain, and renal issues.
- Monitor and manage patients with central lines, hemodialysis catheters, and specialty drips such as amiodarone and Cardizem.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate optimal patient care.
- Maintain adherence to nursing process standards and hospital protocols.
- Utilize equipment including lift devices, bladder scanners, and telemetry monitors for patient safety.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and professional accountability consistent with licensing requirements and facility standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current RN license eligible for Missouri or licensed in Missouri.
- Minimum one year of inpatient cardiac telemetry nursing experience.
- BLS and ACLS certification from AHA.
- Experience with monitoring telemetry rhythms and handling medications such as amiodarone and Cardizem drips.
- Familiarity with patients requiring complex care, including CHF, arrhythmias, and renal challenges.
- Compassionate, detail-oriented, and strong team player.
Shift & Scheduling:
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
- Flexible weekly guaranteed hours options: 36 or 48 hours.
- Weekend and float requirements as needed.
- Night shift orientation held during day shifts requiring availability.
