A Registered Nurse with experience in Telemetry is needed for a night shift role in Tyler, TX. This position involves providing specialized cardiac care to patients ranging from young adults to geriatric individuals. Candidates will work on a medical-surgical cardiac unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 6:1, supporting those recovering from cardiac interventions such as surgery, stent placement, and pacemaker implantation.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to telemetry patients
  • Monitor and assess cardiac patient conditions meticulously
  • Administer treatments and medications as prescribed
  • Float to units of equal or lesser acuity as necessary
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Utilize EPIC electronic health records for documentation and communication

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years nursing experience
  • Proven Telemetry nursing skills required
  • BLS certification required; NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred
  • Previous travel experience in nursing is required
  • Ability to work every other weekend
  • Experience with EPIC electronic health records is mandatory
  • Comfortable working night shifts 3x12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Additional Details:

  • Patient ratio of 1:6 on a 36-bed unit with private rooms
  • Focus on cardiac care patients, including post-operative and non-procedural cases
  • Contract position with a focus on night hours
  • Floating required for units of equal or lesser acuity
  • Candidates residing in specified nearby counties are not eligible
