Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students' sensory, motor, and functional capabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans to address students' unique needs and goals.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, both individually and in small groups.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute valuable insights to the educational team.
- Offer guidance and support to students, families, and staff members on best practices for improving fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
- Stay current with emerging trends and developments in the field of occupational therapy, integrating new techniques and approaches into practice.
Qualifications:
- A valid California state license to practice as an Occupational Therapist.
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality occupational therapy services to students.
- Previous experience working in a school setting is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and other professionals.
- Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, to meet the educational needs of students.
- Dedication to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- Availability to commit to the 2023-24 school year in Napa, California.
