Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to evaluate students' functional abilities and sensory needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' occupational therapy goals, focusing on sensory integration, fine motor skills, visual-motor integration, and self-care.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, utilizing evidence-based interventions and therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' progress and participate in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Support the implementation of sensory strategies and accommodations to create an optimal learning environment for students with autism.
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records of therapy sessions and evaluations.
- Provide consultation and support to teachers and staff regarding sensory and fine motor interventions.
Requirements:
- Valid Arizona State License or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field from an accredited program.
- Experience working with students with autism is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of occupational therapy principles, assessments, and therapeutic interventions.
- Understanding of sensory integration strategies and experience in implementing them in a school setting.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
