Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) for a full-time position in Saugerties, NY. As an OT, you will work with a K-12 caseload across multiple school sites. The position requires providing onsite services and maintaining a schedule spread throughout the week, rather than all in one day. The start date is September 5, 2023, and the end date is June 28, 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct occupational therapy assessments to evaluate students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on students' needs and IEP objectives.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services, including interventions and therapeutic activities, to help students achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to support students' participation and progress in academic and functional activities.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting intervention plans as needed.
  • Provide training and consultation to teachers and staff on strategies for promoting sensory integration and enhancing students' functional abilities.
  • Attend IEP meetings and contribute to the development of occupational therapy goals and objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports.

Qualifications:

  • Active license as an Occupational Therapist in the state of New York.
  • Previous experience working in schools as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Knowledge of occupational therapy assessments and interventions for children and adolescents.
  • Familiarity with special education laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to complete district-required fingerprinting.
  • Comfortable participating in Zoom interviews.
