Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our school in Lafayette, Indiana for the 2023-2024 school year. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with students to address their sensory, motor, and functional needs, promoting their independence and participation in the school environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify students' sensory, motor, and functional strengths and challenges.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and goals based on assessment results, in collaboration with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
  • Implement therapeutic interventions and activities to improve students' sensory processing, motor skills, self-help skills, and functional abilities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to integrate occupational therapy goals into the classroom and school routines.
  • Provide recommendations for adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications to enhance students' participation and accessibility.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with parents to provide guidance and strategies for promoting functional skills at home.
  • Participate in meetings and team discussions to support the overall development and well-being of students.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Indiana 
  • Previous experience working in a school setting or with pediatric populations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of sensory integration principles, motor development, and functional therapy approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans and monitor student progress.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines and maintain accurate documentation.
