Position: Occupational Therapist

Grade Levels: PreK-12th Grade

Description: Our school system is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our team for the summer. This full-time position is available to work with students from PreK to 12th grade, providing occupational therapy services to meet their individual needs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pediatric occupational therapy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.

Responsibilities:

• Assess students' needs and develop individualized occupational therapy plans.
• Implement therapy interventions to address fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and self-care skills.
• Provide direct therapy sessions to students, both individually and in group settings.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to develop strategies to support students' occupational therapy goals.
• Monitor and document students' progress, including maintaining accurate records and writing reports as necessary.
• Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations as required to determine ongoing therapy needs.
• Stay updated with best practices and research in the field of occupational therapy.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or clinical setting.
• Knowledge of relevant assessments and therapeutic interventions for pediatrics.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
• Understanding of special education laws and regulations (e.g., Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).
