Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Position Overview:
A reputable medical center in Paducah, KY, is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our surgical team. The OR RN will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and sterile.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other medical staff to provide optimal patient care.
• Monitor patient conditions before, during, and after surgery, responding to any changes promptly.
• Maintain sterile techniques and enforce infection control practices.
• Assist in positioning patients and preparing them for surgery.
• Document surgical procedures and maintain accurate patient records.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families pre- and post-operatively.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all facility policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky (or eligibility to obtain).
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (PALS preferred).
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an OR nurse preferred; new graduates with clinical OR rotations are encouraged to apply.
• Strong understanding of surgical procedures and sterile field maintenance.
• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
