Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our team. As a Paraprofessional, you will work closely with educators to support the educational and behavioral needs of students. This role is crucial in creating a positive learning environment and ensuring that all students receive the attention and assistance they need to succeed.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom activities.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
  • Reinforce lessons presented by teachers by reviewing material with students individually or in small groups.
  • Assist with classroom management and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Help students with physical needs, such as mobility assistance or personal hygiene.
  • Support students with special needs, including those with learning disabilities or behavioral challenges.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals about student progress and concerns.
  • Follow and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as directed.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some positions may require an associate's degree or higher education in a related field.
  • Previous experience working with children or students preferred.
  • Knowledge of educational principles and techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting student learning and development.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of the job.
