Part Time Registered Nurse (RN) Needed for Extended School Year (ESY)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for the Extended School Year (ESY) program in LaPlace, LA. This is a part-time position from June 5, 2023, to June 30, 2023, with workdays scheduled from Monday through Thursday. As the School RN, you will provide essential healthcare services and support to students during the ESY program.

Responsibilities:

• Administer first aid and emergency medical care to students as needed, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Monitor students with chronic health conditions and administer prescribed medications according to individual care plans.
• Assess and manage students' healthcare needs, including wound care, catheterization, and other medical procedures.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHCPs).
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documentation of treatments, medications, and healthcare interventions.
• Educate staff, students, and families about health-related topics, including preventive measures, hygiene, and safety practices.
• Provide training and support to school personnel regarding emergency response protocols and the management of specific health conditions.

Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana.
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Knowledge of common pediatric health conditions, medication administration, and emergency medical procedures.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with students, parents, and the school team.
• Proficient computer skills to maintain electronic health records and documentation.
