We are seeking a passionate and dedicated full-time School Counselor to join our team in supporting students with special needs in their educational journey. This position will collaborate closely with special education teachers, administrators, and other support staff to ensure the holistic development and well-being of our students.


  1. Collaborate with special education teachers to understand the individual needs of students with disabilities and contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  2. Conduct assessments and observations to identify students' emotional, social, and behavioral needs, and develop appropriate intervention strategies.
  3. Provide individual and group counseling sessions to support students in developing coping skills, self-regulation techniques, and social-emotional competencies.
  4. Work closely with parents/guardians to address concerns, provide resources, and support them in understanding and advocating for their child's needs.
  5. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop therapy goals and objectives aligned with students' IEPs and educational plans.
  6. Monitor students' progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed, while maintaining accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and progress notes.
  7. Provide crisis intervention and support to students experiencing emotional distress or behavioral challenges.
  8. Conduct workshops and training sessions for staff, parents, and students on topics related to mental health, disability awareness, and positive behavior support.


  1. Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  2. California Pupil Personnel Services Credential with a specialization in School Counseling or eligibility for such credential.
  3. Experience working with students with disabilities and knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IEP development and implementation.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  5. Experience in conducting assessments, developing intervention plans, and providing counseling services to children and adolescents.
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in counseling practice.
  7. Flexibility, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the social-emotional well-being of students with special needs.
