This position focuses on serving students with mild to moderate needs across various grade levels, from TK to 8th grade. Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate special needs.
- Provide differentiated instruction, accommodations, and modifications to address students' diverse learning requirements.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behavior specialists, to ensure comprehensive educational plans.
- Monitor and assess student progress, regularly adjusting teaching strategies and goals to promote growth.
- Implement behavior management strategies and interventions to support students with special needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including IEP documentation.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, caregivers, and colleagues to address academic and developmental needs.
Qualifications:
- A valid California teaching credential with a mild/moderate specialization.
- Strong commitment to providing high-quality education and support to students with diverse needs.
- Previous experience working in special education, particularly with mild to moderate caseloads, is preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and other professionals.
- Dedication to creating an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work with students across various grade levels, from TK to 8th grade.
- Availability for part-time work and flexibility with hours and grade levels.
