Per Diem Pharmacist Opportunity in California

This California health center has an immediate opening for an experienced retail pharmacist to fill 2-3 shifts a week. Location: Fresno, CA
Pay Rate: $62.50/Hr.

Job Responsibilities:

• Reviews prescriptions issued by physicians or others authorized to prescribe to accuracy; determines formulas and ingredients needed
• Compounds medications using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients
• Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies
• Monitors all postings onto the patient profiles in the computer system. Ensures accuracy and that drug allergies, drug interactions, duplicate therapy, rational drug therapy, and incompatibilities may be realized, and better patient care received
• Directs pharmacy staff engaged in packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals
• Supervises pharmacy staff
• Answers questions and provides information to physicians, nurses, patients, and other healthcare professionals on the appropriate use of medications, drug interactions, etc.
• Endorses policies and procedures of the retail pharmacy
• Provides pharmaceutical care to all ages of patients from newborns to the elderly. Understands there are dosage variations between newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients and knows where to find appropriate information
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors
• Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality

Qualifications:

• Registered Pharmacist by the California Board of Pharmacy, active and in good standing
• COVID Vaccine required, no exceptions
• Willing to take on 23 shifts per week, on average
• Spanish speaking strongly preferred but not required
