A leadership role is available for a Pharmacist in Charge at a closed-door Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy facility in Lexington, KY. This direct hire position offers a unique opportunity to take charge of pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance, reliability, and high-quality patient care.
This facility is currently facing challenges with staff reliability, making consistent attendance and dedication critical. A strong leader with LTC experience is highly preferred to support and enhance pharmacy services in a high-volume setting, processing roughly 600 prescriptions daily. Familiarity with Frameworks software is a plus, but training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care.
- Ensure full compliance with all federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations.
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records, including prescription orders and controlled substance management.
- Develop and implement policies to optimize safe and efficient pharmacy operation.
- Lead, support, and evaluate pharmacy staff performance while fostering a positive work environment.
- Supervise inventory management to maintain appropriate medication stock and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve medication-related issues.
- Manage customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and promptness.
- Stay current with industry trends, medication updates, and regulatory changes.
- Conduct audits and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Uphold infection control and safety protocols, maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
Qualifications:
- Active KY Pharmacist license in good standing.
- 2 to 4 years of Long-Term Care pharmacy experience.
- Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably in LTC.
- Commitment to excellent attendance and reliable work performance.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, day shift.
- Evening and weekend coverage only if needed.
