An immediate opening is available for a Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead pharmacy operations within a specialty pharmacy setting. This contract role requires a strong background in specialty pharmacy, home infusion, and pharmacy management to ensure safe, compliant medication practices and efficient patient care.

Job Type:
- Contract, with a possible transition to permanent employment
- Duration: 13 weeks with potential extension to 26 weeks
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with weekend on-call rotation
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee prescription review, verification, dispensing, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, URAC, ACHC)
- Provide patient counseling and manage medication therapy for specialty disease states
- Supervise and guide pharmacy technicians and interns
- Collaborate with Intake, Referral, Nursing/Clinical, Reimbursement, and Pharmacy Operations teams for seamless pharmacy workflows
- Maintain accurate pharmacy records and support quality assurance and incident resolution
- Participate in weekend on-call rotations as required
Qualifications:
- Active pharmacist license with preference for Massachusetts and willingness to obtain Connecticut license
- Bachelor of Science or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
- Minimum 3 years of experience in specialty, infusion, hospital, or similar pharmacy settings
- Solid understanding of specialty therapies, payer requirements, and patient qualification processes
- Experience supervising pharmacy staff
- Familiarity with pharmacy software; CareTend experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, leadership, communication, and multitasking skills
