Pharmacy Manager in Kokomo, IN

Lead the launch of a new outpatient pharmacy within a healthcare system in Kokomo, IN, by overseeing operations, staff, and workflow as a Pharmacy Manager. This contract role focuses on establishing efficient pharmacy services and programs to support patient care in an outpatient setting.

Location: Kokomo, IN
Job Type: Contract (through April 1, 2025)
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, no weekends or on-call duties

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the setup and operational launch of an outpatient pharmacy, including space planning and workflow design
• Implement and manage the PioneerRx order entry system (experience preferred); training on Meditech available
• Coordinate with payers and Pharmacy Services Administrative Organizations (PSAO) for contracting
• Develop programs such as "Meds to Beds," scheduled to start June 1, 2025
• Oversee a pharmacy team consisting of approximately 12 full-time pharmacists and 12 pharmacy technicians
• Support pharmacy technician staffing starting around February 2026
• Maintain professional appearance in compliance with dress code: eggplant scrubs or business casual with a white coat in patient-facing areas

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Indiana pharmacist license required
• Proven experience in standing up or managing an outpatient pharmacy and pharmacy operations
• Familiarity with PioneerRx or ability to quickly learn new pharmacy management software
• Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage multi-disciplinary teams
• Experience with payer and PSAO contracting highly beneficial
