A Pharmacy Technician role is available in Clearwater, FL for a 13-week contract assignment. This position requires a detail-oriented professional experienced in prescription processing and pharmacy operations to support a busy pharmacy environment. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a start date as soon as cleared (approximately 1.5 to 2 weeks after offer acceptance).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and fill prescriptions accurately while handling insurance adjudications and resolving any claim rejections.
  • Prepare, package, and label medications for pharmacist verification to ensure compliance and patient safety.
  • Perform data entry and manage prescription documentation; communicate effectively with patients and prescribers to clarify information.
  • Maintain inventory through daily cycle counts, restocking, and review of medication expiration dates.
  • Assist in handling medication returns, quarantines, and destruction procedures following regulatory standards.
  • Cross-train across various pharmacy functions and support team needs to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance guidelines throughout all duties.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Current PTCB certification and Florida pharmacy technician license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a pharmacy technician; call center experience is preferred.
  • Strong multitasking abilities with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills when interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Type: Temporary/Contract (13 weeks)
Start Date: ASAP or upon clearance
