This opportunity is for two IV/Infusion Pharmacy Technicians to support home infusion services on a 13-week contract, with the possibility of conversion to permanent employment based on performance. The positions require working Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., providing essential pharmacy support under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately fill prescriptions and prepare intravenous (IV) medications following established standards and government regulations.
- Collaborate with the Billing Supervisor to enter prescription data for reimbursement processing.
- Prepackage medications for dispensing and assist Pharmacists in the final verification and packaging process.
- Maintain inventory control, including receiving, rotating stock, and assisting with physical inventory counts.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment by monitoring equipment calibration, safety, and cleanliness.
- One position requires sterile compounding experience; the other focuses on patient refill tasks without compounding.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Previous IV pharmacy technician experience is mandatory for the sterile compounding role.
- Pharmacy Technician license valid in Virginia (VA) is required.
- National pharmacy technician certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.
