A Remote Pharmacy Technician position is available supporting utilization management and prior authorization processes for part B medications. This contract-to-hire role starts December 1 with training provided and requires working Monday through Friday from 10am to 7pm EST (9am to 6pm CST), including rotating weekend on-call shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and determine prior authorization requests in accordance with company policies and decision trees.
  • Process incoming prior authorization requests from provider offices efficiently.
  • Apply preferred product strategies and collaborate with providers to guide usage of part B medication benefits.
  • Communicate with hospitals, provider offices, and members to obtain clinical documentation and share clinical decisions.
  • Address member questions regarding alternative treatment options.
  • Support medical management processes to enable efficient decision-making by pharmacists and physicians.
  • Serve as a main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with offshore clinical partners.
  • Interpret plan benefits and manage specialty pharmacy overrides for proper claim adjudication.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in utilization management or completion of a managed care residency.
  • In-depth knowledge of Part B drugs and prior authorization procedures.
  • Active pharmacy technician license in at least one state.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work Central Standard Time hours.

Location: Remote (candidate must work CST hours)
