This opportunity is for an experienced Pharmacy Technician specialized in utilization management within a remote setting. The role requires expertise in handling Part B drug prior authorizations, with a focus on ensuring efficient medication benefit utilization under company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and determine prior authorization requests using established decision trees and policies.
- Process incoming prior authorization submissions from healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with providers to apply preferred product strategies for Part B medications.
- Communicate with hospitals and provider offices to obtain necessary clinical documentation.
- Serve as a liaison between internal teams, providers, and members to communicate clinical decisions.
- Address member inquiries regarding alternative treatment options.
- Support medical management operations that enable high-quality clinical decisions.
- Assist offshore clinical partners and manage specialty pharmacy overrides for accurate claim processing.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in utilization management as a Pharmacy Technician or completion of a managed care residency.
- Comprehensive understanding of Part B drug prior authorizations.
- Bilingual proficiency in spoken and written English and Spanish is required.
- Active pharmacy technician license in at least one state.
- Availability to work Central Standard Time (CST) hours.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM EST (9:00 AM to 6:00 PM CST)
- Rotating weekend on-call shifts
Location: Remote position
Additional Information:
- Equipment will be provided by the client.
- Contract to hire arrangement with training commencing December 1.
