A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to join a healthcare facility in Racine, WI, on a 13-week contract with the potential for contract-to-hire based on performance. This role offers the chance to work within a team dedicated to providing quality pharmaceutical care in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately and safely.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance and address over-usage patterns.
  • Ensure all medication supplies comply with legal requirements.
  • Verify the suitability of prescribed medications for patients.
  • Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy documentation.
  • Advise patients on medication use, potential reactions, and answer their questions.
  • Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter medications regarding storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
  • Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interns to resolve drug-related issues.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active Wisconsin pharmacist license (in-hand).
  • Experience in retail pharmacy will be considered; training provided if needed.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift hours: 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, including rotating weekends.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to patient care and safety.
