A rewarding opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist to support a 20-bed medical center in suburban Tucson, AZ, on a contract basis. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient distribution of pharmaceuticals to patients of all ages and hospital staff, adhering to all regulatory standards including state/federal laws, DEA regulations, and TJC requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely dispense pharmaceutical agents and manage narcotic accountability.
- Collaborate closely with physicians on drug therapies and dosing adjustments.
- Provide medication education to nursing staff, patients, and physicians.
- Participate in Medication Safety initiatives and monitor patient profiles.
- Prepare IV admixtures and nutritional supplements.
- Report and avoid adverse drug reactions effectively.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a high-acuity acute care hospital setting.
- Familiarity with NICU care and management of cardiac cases such as Impella and ECMO.
- Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Ability to ensure compliance with federal, state, and hospital regulations.
- Effective communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Schedule:
- Day shifts, Monday through Friday.
